Since 1999, the City of Flowood has hosted the Flowood Family Festival, an outdoor concert that kicks off the summer season with live music, kid's activities, fair food, fireworks, and more. The festival is always free and brings in travelers from all over to join in family-friendly fun right here in Flowood.

Play, compete, and connect at central Mississippi's largest pickleball courts. Featuring 18 newly constructed, lighted courts, this outdoor facility is free to the public on a first-come, first-serve basis. For availabilities and tournaments, click below.

The zoo's annual Christmas event, children are invited for an afternoon to visit with Santa, decorate a sugar cookie, holiday crafts, and story time with Brillo the Ferret. Animals will be given special enrichment items to celebrate the holiday, as well. Christmas carols and hot chocolate will welcome guests from 12-1:30, Santa will be visiting from 1-3, and story time will be at 1:45. Activities taking place in the Gertrude C. Ford Education Center at the Jackson Zoo. General Admission: $8/Adults and $5/Kids; members are free.
